Our Thursday begins with an update on a story we discussed yesterday. Portland State University, that called for police intervention on the occupation of its library, has bargained with the terrorists and won’t prosecute them for the destruction of the property or the disruption of the institution. Portland State is unworthy of support. In related news, NYPD arrested over 200 in anti-protest actions.
It would appear Senator Debbie Mayfield is desperate to keep an elected position. For now, we’ll call her Thad 2.0. The 16 year lawmaker spent 8 years in the Florida House, another 8 in the Florida Senate and wanted desperately to be Bill Posey when she grew up. That dream was flattened with Friday’s announcement that Posey is withdrawing from his campaign and Mike Haridopolos filed at the last minute. In other words, Mayfield and others got out politicked. Mayfield has filed to run in the primary against Dave Weldon for the Florida House seat currently held by Thad Altman. The question is simple- which of these Republican legislators served us better and was more committed to conservative principles? Here’s a hint: It AIN’T Mayfield.
Heading to congress, Marjory Taylor Green will show her ignorance if she follows through with her plans to try and oust Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House. It seems stupid Republican tricks continue.
Georgia has passed a law requiring law enforcement in the state to cooperate with ICE. Sanctuary City THAT, will ya?
Back to Brevard: Elected officials are touting the benefits of a Brightline station in Cocoa. They are also showing how they are willing to contort themselves and tax law to throw your money at the project.
