I've been hanging around the Seacoast area since graduating from UNH with a BA in Communication. Started working in radio at WUNH - and one day got a call from WHEB while over at the college station and they offered me a job! Money - hellyeah, I'll take it! Stayed from 1985-1998... then fell off the face of the earth and worked at other places playing different music. Some special projects accomplished during that time include 12 yr old Molly, and 8 yr old Will - the future rockers of America.
I've also moved to TV at New Hampshire Public TV (channel 11) in Durham spending a few years in the Auction Department and then joined the crew as co-host of the high school quiz show Granite State Challenge. Sadly, I was never one of the brainy contestants that appeared on GSC - but I do get to chat with all the local high school smarty-pants. I'm waiting for the adult version to hit the airwaves and hope the questions will be a lot easier.
Our famiy is still quite passionate about helping animals, and adopted another 'used dog' - a 9 yr old collie named Tyler. The family considered changing his name to Fabio since all he ever says is "Did you see my hair? Aren't I pretty? or Do you want to pet me?" Seriously, don't believe everything you saw on the show "Lassie". He's been joined by adopted guinea pigs Piper and Luey who are amazingly squeaky and quite nice.
"Thrilled" would be an understatement at my first reaction to coming back home to WHEB and the midday shift. "I've worked at other places and made a lot of good friends along the way... but to me - Lori D. on WHEB is the best fit. Am I excited to get back to the best Rock Station in the history of the world? Uh, yeah."
My boss, The Doctor, just hopes I behave this time. We can always dream, Doc....
